By reducing transaction costs, enabling local-currency settlements, and connecting banks, fintechs, and mobile money providers, IPS can empower MSMEs and accelerate Africa’s transition from cash-heavy trade to an integrated digital economy. To fully realize this potential, harmonized regulations, interoperable infrastructure, and active stakeholder engagement are essential.
