Abeneazer Lakew leads the portfolio and program management office at EthSwitch, Ethiopia’s national payment switch. With over Twelve years’ experience in digital payments, fintech and strategic planning, he drives initiatives that are reshaping Ethiopia’s payment ecosystem. His track record spans launching innovative digital services at Nyala Insurance and holding multiple leadership roles at Kifiya Financial Technology, where he managed product development and customer-focused operations.

Abeneazer holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with multiple certifications.

Abeneazer is honored to serve on the panel for AfricaNenda’s State of Inclusive Instant Payment Systems (SIIPS) 2025 launch in Eswatini, which aims to accelerate inclusive instant payments across Africa. He looks forward to sharing insights on how real-time, affordable payment systems can empower underserved communities, deepen trust and unlock cross-border economic opportunities. Driven by a commitment to collaboration and innovation, he envisions a future where inclusive digital finance becomes a cornerstone of the continent’s growth.
