Ndeye Fatou Dieng

Deputy Director of Payment Systems and Instruments at BCEAO

Ndeye Fatou Dieng, Senegalese, is currently Deputy Director of Payment Systems and Resources at BCEAO. She is also Project Manager for the implementation of the instant payment system. With over 20 years' experience at the Banque Centrale des Etats de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (BCEAO), her expertise covers various financial fields, including microfinance, banking, digital finance and payment systems.

In her current role, Ndeye Fatou implements inclusive finance strategies to promote access to basic financial services and develop robust payment infrastructures within the countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). She also chairs the working groups bringing together financial sector players to implement a regional platform for interoperability of digital financial services.

Previously, she was Deputy Director of Financial Inclusion and Head of the Microfinance and Decentralized Financial Systems Department. She began her career as head of litigation and operations with credit institutions.

Ndeye Fatou holds a master's degree in digital Transformation from Essec Business School and other qualifications in tax and financial auditing from the Université Cheikh Anta DIOP de Dakar, as well as certifications in financial inclusion policy, Fintech and regulatory innovations.
