Our People

Ms. Manal Abdel Moneim is the Founder of the SOBEK Group of Companies, which provide integrated solutions for irrigation, agriculture and food security. She is currently Executive President and CEO of SOBEK for Smart Solutions, a fintech company providing savings, investments and other platforms.

Ms. Abdel Moneim has more than 35 years of work experience in banking, international trade, and development finance. In 2020, she successfully served a stint as CEO and Executive Director of the Al Nasr Export-Import Company, Egypt’s state-owned export trading company, to develop its comeback strategy and due diligence. Before founding SOBEK in 2014, she has founded several companies in engineering, agriculture, energy, and food and beverages.

Ms. Abdel Moneim holds a BSc and an MBA from the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva. She is a member of the African Women Leaders Network (AWLN) and the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs.
