Professional Experience: MUKANYUBAHIRO Laurence hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Information Technology from Adventist University of Central Africa. She currently serves as a Senior Analyst in Payment Systems Department at the National Bank of Rwanda, where she plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of payment systems in the country. With nearly ten years of professional expertise in supervision and oversight of payment systems and services within the financial sector. They include; card switches, banks mobile money operators, payment aggregators, interbank systems, remittance institutions, among others. Laurence possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies of the digital payments ecosystem and the associated risks and challenges.

Professional Key Achievements and Contributions:

• An active participant in the East African Community (EAC) payment system oversight and inspection exercises, Laurence collaborates with the EAC Secretariat on annual assessments of payment systems, contributing to regional cooperation and standardization.
• She has been a key figure in the assessment of payment systems against the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMIs) Standards, ensuring that payment systems in Rwanda adhere to international best practices.
• Laurence has made substantial contributions to both national and regional payment systems projects, including the implementation of the Electronic Data Warehouse and the East African Community Payment and Settlements Integration projects. Her involvement includes developing necessary reporting templates, coordinating stakeholder meetings, representing Rwanda in regional discussions and workshops, and providing invaluable advice to management.

Laurence's extensive experience, expertise, and dedication to the payment systems field make her a valuable contributor to the discussion on enhancing consumer experiences in digital payments. Her profound impact on payment systems in Rwanda and the region at large is a testament to her leadership and commitment to advancing the digital payments landscape.
