Learning, Innovation, and Inclusion: Highlights from the Nigeria Peer Visit

Nigeria has emerged as a leader in inclusive payment solutions with its Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Instant Payment (NIP). From June 16th to 20th, 2025, AfricaNenda Foundation and NIBSS hosted a peer learning visit in Lagos, welcoming delegates from several financial institutions from Eswatini, Guinea, Liberia, Madagascar, Somalia, South Sudan, Togo, and the CEMAC region.

Johannesburg, July 14th, 2022 – BankservAfrica and AfricaNenda are pleased to announce their new partnership to broaden access to the TCIB (Transactions Cleared on an Immediate Basis) payments scheme within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and beyond with a specific focus to advance digital payments and financial inclusion in Africa.

AfricaNenda Webinar Series: How Might We Accelerate Financial Inclusion by Promoting IIPS in Africa?

On May 4th, 2022, AfricaNenda, in partnership with the Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI), hosted a webinar to discuss initiatives to promote Instant and Inclusive Payment Systems and Financial Inclusion in Africa. The webinar brought together over 90 participants from the financial inclusion and digital financial services sectors across Africa.

Kigali, March 23rd, 2022 – AfricaNenda and the Smart Africa Alliance (SA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support capacity building for policy and decision makers on digital payments and financial inclusion for the creation of a single digital market in Africa.
